Her presence is full of malice. With every step she takes, a lethal smog, crisping flowers and an ominous premonition follow.

Finally got around to making the fourth theme in the 100 theme challenge: Dark.
At first I thought this was turning out okay, but when I got to the background I started noticing that the colours weren't mixing very well.. and im not sure why..

I like it, but I don't think it's quite on the level of the other ones you've done so far. The grey into purple in the sky could be smoother. I find that more noticeable than the red she's standing on. I like how she and the area right around her are done in more detail than the background.

I love the way that the background is just a simple sketch but is really effective and describes it just fine without much need for detail!

Maybe it's because you went from using grey colors to actual colors?
